Start Smiling With Professional Pain Free Dental Hygiene.

by Iwona Singh

My interest in dentistry dates back to 2004, when I decided to enrol in a Dental Assistant apprenticeship.

During my apprenticeship, my interest in dentistry quickly became more of a passion and with my thirst for knowledge and a desire to create a life and career from this industry, I found myself enrolling in evening courses to expand my knowledge and enable me to gain qualifications such as, NEBDN Dental Nursing, Radiography and also become an Oral Hygiene Educator,

I soon realised that my passion was leaning more towards educating my patients, so I decided to become a Dental Hygienist.

After many years of working hard studying Dental Hygiene, I finally qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2016, and haven’t looked back since!

I have been extremely blessed to work with some wonderful mentors, educators and peers throughout my career and strongly believe that without this experience I would not be where I am today, these experiences have made me into a confident, knowledgeable and passionate Hygienist. I take great pride in my work and will not settle for anything less than my very best effort to achieve and exceed my patients expectations.

Practicing good dental hygiene is so important, and as I always say to my customers “Prevention is better than a cure”.

Hygienist Care for The Whole Family

Even when you brush and floss religiously after every meal, tartar and plaque can build up on your teeth, particularly along gums, between teeth, and in other hard-to-reach places. This is why it is so important to schedule regular hygienist and dental visits.

Through routine cleanings, early detection of cavities, and other preventative procedures, I am able to help you keep your smile in the best possible condition.

Education Is Key To Dental Hygiene

It is so important that we teach our children the proper way to take care of their teeth, including the correct brushing and flossing techniques to general dental hygiene and the importance of a healthy diet. It’s essential they learn at an early age the benefits of having healthy teeth and what foods, drinks etc to avoid or at least consume in moderation.

Safe Practice – Peace of mind for patient and staff:

The COVID 19 pandemic affected many industries and the Dental industry was no different, that said it was only affected for a surprisingly short amount of time and although our early procedures have been relaxed, our patients safety remain paramount. Here’s what we learnt…

Safe Practice, Dental Hygiene by Iwona Singh
COVID safety measures enforced during the initial pandemic.

As emergency treatment had to continue, a lot of time and effort went into researching and implementing methods of reducing the risk of infection in Dental practices very early on. The use of PPE was considered to be the best form of defence and, to begin with, it took some getting use to, but now with PPE being the forefront, alongside Vaccination, to preventing the spread of COVID-19, and with the vast choices in PPE available, we are working as efficiently, maybe even more efficiently, than pre COVID!

To give you more of an insight, the Dental Practices that I am based at, have invested in the use of FFP2 and FFP3 masks that filter 94% and 99%, respectively, of airborne particles in both directions (patient to clinician and clinician to patient).

All the practices I work with have gone above and beyond the NHS guidelines by installing air purification machines and air extractors in all of their surgeries. Our high-performance air purification units quickly and efficiently eliminate contaminants in the room and reduce our fallow times to 10 minutes.

With all these systems and procedures in place, you can rest assured that your treatment is not affected and that we are still delivering the same high standards of treatment that you were used to, pre COVID, just in a COVID safe environment!
