How to use Interdental/TePe Brushes
These Interdental TePe brushes are great products and they come in many different shapes, sizes and colours.
There is a technique to using these. To make the brush easier to use, try extending the handle by attaching the brush cover to the end of the handle. Once you have done this the most effective technique for cleaning is;
For the upper teeth, push the brush between the teeth, angle it slightly downwards and move back and forth, about 6 motions between each tooth should suffice. As you move back and forth, you want to feel some resistance, this is very important as it means the bristles are in contact with the sides of the teeth and indicates that both sides of the teeth are getting cleaned properly at the same time.
For the Lower teeth the technique is the same, just angle the brush slightly upwards.
Always ask your dental hygienist what size of interdental brushes is ideal in your case.

How to use EasyPicks
Flossing is not for everyone, but there are other options on the market nowadays, one being EasyPicks.
They are very easy to use. Simply place the EasyPick between the teeth and move back and forth, about 6 back and forth motions between each tooth should be enough. You want to make sure you feel some resistance, this will ensure that you both massage the soft tissue to make it firm, healthy and more stippled and also remove all food debris and disturb any plaque bacteria.
Don’t underestimate the importance of this practice in your daily oral routine as gum stimulation is very important as it promotes healthy blood circulation!
How to use a Single Tufted Toothbrush for Wisdom Teeth, Braces, Implants and Crowding.
This toothbrush is an incredibly useful tool. I call it, “A Little Ninja”, perfect for cleaning those areas in the mouth that are hard to reach, for example:
- Wisdom Teeth, especially the partially erupted ones
- Crowded Teeth
- Orthodontic appliances (braces) and fixed orthodontic retainers
- Implants
- Patients with restricted jaw movements
- Patients with gag reflex
- Gum pockets
- Lone standing teeth
If you have any of the conditions above and are struggling to carry out your oral hygiene routine with standard tools, try this, you never know, it could be your mouths new best friend!
Here is how to use it:
I do recommend you use it dry. Direct the tip (tuft) into the space between the teeth and then trace the gum line with the bristles. Use small circular movements with little pulses of gentle pressure, in between the teeth towards the gum crevice, and gentle sweeping movement along the gum line at the neck of the teeth. Rinse brush well after use and store it upright.
